Kids Bathroom Refresh with FrogTape®

Our two kids share a bathroom upstairs at our house. It is a functional bathroom with its dual sinks, and I previously painted their vanity cabinet a bright blue. But the walls were awful! The contractor grade paint was hard to wipe clean, and the beige HAD to go. The beige on the walls made their countertop look yellow, and I knew bringing in a cool tone would refresh their bathroom and give it a more modern look.

Kids Bathroom Refresh with FrogTape® (before!)Painting a kids bathroom is an easy weekend project! Our kids’ bathroom is relatively small, but I broke this project up over 2 days because I am a Mom and my time gets chopped up with after school activities. It doesn’t take a lot of supplies to paint a bathroom—I usually lay a tarp on the floor (recycled from other projects), a roller brush, angled detail brush, paint, stir stick, and painter’s tape.

Supplies for painting a kids bathroomBefore painting any bathroom walls I added FrogTape® Multi-Surface along the baseboards, door, bathtub edges, and along the edge of our vanity cabinet. Did you know this tape can stay on for up to 21 days before your paint? To break up the project you could go in the day before and prep baseboards and edges with FrogTape® Multi-Surface.

The results are crisp, clean paint lines the first time.

love the clean lines FrogTape® gives to our bathroom wall

FrogTape is the only painting tape treated with patented PaintBlock® Technology!

PaintBlock® reacts with the water in latex paint and instantly gels to form a barrier against paint bleed giving you the sharpest paint lines possible. I was really impressed with the crisp, clean lines when I removed the tape after painting the walls.

Quick tip: follow directions and remove tape immediately after painting while paint is still wet.

Kids Bathroom Refresh with FrogTape®While painting our kids’ bathroom I replaced their dated 1990s bar light with a new light fixture. I had a few holes to cover and sand so it made practical sense to swap out the light while painting the walls. I also replaced their old rug for a new blue and orange rug that pulls together the new colors in the bathroom.

Kids Bathroom Refresh with FrogTape®FrogTape® Multi-Surface helped this room go from boring beige to fun, modern and fresh. The blue gray paint balances the vanity countertop and beige tile floor. And most importantly the beige paint color is GONE from the kids’ bathroom walls!
