Julia Fain founded the Tag & Tibby website in 2014 to share her love of budget friendly decor and design ideas. She writes most frequently about paint colors, decorating, DIY projects, and organization.

Tag & Tibby content has been featured online in Better Homes & Gardens, Country Living, Domino, and Good Housekeeping. Julia was named a Stylemaker by Better Homes & Gardens in 2016, 2017, and 2019.

How did the name Tag & Tibby come about?

Tag & Tibby found its name through a 1930’s early reader book and its characters Tag and Tibby (a dog and cat). Years ago Julia sold vintage books and decor on Etsy and adores all things antique and classic and the name clicked! While she no longer sells vintage, her home style is still an eclectic blend of vintage mixed with new.

Personal Life

Julia grew up just outside of Savannah, GA and lives in the Lake Norman area of Charlotte, North Carolina with her two teens. She has a degree in Industrial Design from Georgia Tech.

In addition to developing creative content, she works with local design clients on interior decorating, new construction, and renovation support. She enjoys shopping on a budget for clothes (consignment stores are her go to), and looks for the best deals on furniture and accessories including used pieces at estate sales, and new pieces at bargain outlets.
