Our two kids share a bathroom upstairs at our house. It is a functional bathroom with its dual sinks, and I previously painted their vanity cabinet a bright blue. But the walls were awful! The contractor grade paint was hard to wipe clean, and the beige HAD to go. How to Frame a Mirror with Wood, a DIY Mirror Frame

A few weeks ago we finished our master bathroom update on a $300 budget and I received several requests for a tutorial on how to make the bathroom mirror. Full disclosure--covering our large mirror wasn't my original idea! I spotted it first at Cherished Bliss several months ago and I was determined to build a mirror frame for ourselves!

Our frame size ended up being 66" x 42." I give dimensions as a guideline below, but PLEASE measure your own mirror and adjust your measurements accordingly!

The wood frame itself is made from pine boards. We stained the frame Rustic Gray and roughed it up a bit with a sanding block, nails, and a rough gloss treatment. We attached our wood frame to the mirror using a few joist hangers and at the bottom we used a few command strips.

Master Bathroom Update on a $300 Budget

We are working to bring our home out of 1997. We ALWAYS work on a tight budget, and we just updated our master bathroom for $300! The biggest challenge to updating a bathroom on a budget is deciding what to keep and what to update. In our master bathroom we kept the original tile flooring, tub, vanity cabinet, and faucets and updated the room with paint, new hardware, a mirror frame, and a new light fixture.
