A few months ago we painted our dining room dark gray and gave it a makeover. Most of the accessories in the space were either thrifted or DIYed (like the faux marble cabinet that holds the kiddos craft supplies).
Today I am sharing how you can make a paper mâché animal head on a faux marble plaque like the one we have in our dining room! Using Hobby Lobby's 40% coupon (which I highly recommend) the material cost for this project was around $20!
Paper Mâché Animal Head with Faux Marble Plaque
Supplies
Craft or Wall Paint (leftover Sherwin Williams paint from our dining room)
Paper Mâché Animal Head
Paint Brush
Old award or picture plaque with flat surface (found ours at the thrift store)
Tape
Glue Gun
Directions
Step 1:
Paint at least two coats of paint on deer head until paper mâché is completely covered.
Step 2:
Cut a rectangle piece of contact paper, slightly larger than the size of your plaque. Cover plaque and fold over excess contact paper on back of plaque.
Step 3:
Tape contact paper down on back of plaque.
Step 4:
Using a hot glue gun press animal head firmly down onto plaque. Hang with Command Strips or a nail. Enjoy!
