Our six year old son and four year old daughter share a room. When we designed their space I imagined a neutral space for our son and daughter to both feel comfortable. An open floor space to play toys. A cheerful space with a lot of natural light.
Our home has been a family design project over the past five years. In the kids' bedroom I removed the old carpet, painted, and added blinds. My husband Lee updated the overhead lighting, light switches and vents. Everything was on a budget (the easel and many toys were thrift store finds). And we added underbed storage for toys to easily appear for play and disappear when not in use.
Their room is not this clean at the moment (ha!) but I love the pictures our friend Katelyn took of our little home. For the full home tour check out our space on Design Mom last year.
If you have kids, do they share a room? Have a wonderful Friday friends! We received 9 new inches of snow last night. School is cancelled so we are going to enjoy a snow day!
